May 2022 Market Commentary

Peterborough, NH (May 9, 2022) – Well, we knew it would end at some point, right? Since April of 2020, stock and bond markets have provided solid returns – a steady ride - until just a few months ago and then more dramatically the last two weeks. After years of very low interest rates and stimulus money aplenty to shore up the economy from the pandemic effects, central banks around the world, including our own Federal Reserve, have stopped “easing” and are now aggressively “tightening” the money supply in an effort to restrain inflation.
